Kesedo won the Ecuador National Sports Medal for winning the 26 European League Championship
Foreign media euniverso reported that the Ecuadorian National Assembly held a grand ceremony on July 21 to award Ecuadorian football player Moises Kesedo the Medal of Merit in Sports.
The honor was passed by unanimous votes and received 138 votes. The recognition highlights Kesédo's outstanding performance at Chelsea, where he won the FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Champions League. These achievements not only pushed Ecuador's name to the international stage, but also enhanced the reputation of national sports.
Kesedo: "Thank God, this is a great honor for me. I am very grateful for everyone's warm reception and care. I work hard every day and hope to keep my country at the highest point." At the award ceremony, government officials, parliamentarians, sports representatives and players' families were all present. The National Assembly stressed that Kesedo and William Pacho (Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League champions) set an example for Ecuadorian youth, demonstrating success through unremitting efforts, discipline and an international perspective.
Casedo: "I have dreamed of becoming a professional football player since I was a child, always keeping humble and keeping my original intentions."
Before the official ceremony in Quito, the midfielder was welcomed heroically in his hometown of Santo Domingo de Los Chilas. On July 17, hundreds of citizens took to the streets to join his convoy to march through the main streets. The climax moment was Mayor Wilson Ellaso awarding him the city key, a symbolic move that expresses the pride of the entire community. During the celebration, Kesedo shared his joy with the live audience and showed off the medals he won in recent European events. Despite his remarkable achievements in international football, his close ties with his hometown remain unchanged. Ecuadorian player William Pacho, who is also expected to play for Paris Saint-Germain, will receive the same honor in the National Assembly at 11:00 a.m. on July 23.
