The Times: Former Liverpool midfielder Bobby Clark will join Celtic in January
According to the British media "The Times", former Liverpool midfielder Bobby Clark will join Celtic from Red Bull Salzburg in January for 6 million pounds.
Clark is currently on loan to Derby County and has made 10 appearances this season. However, Clark is ready to move to the Scottish Premiership permanently with Celtic. Celtic are currently second in the Scottish Premiership standings and host Rangers in their first game in January.
Clark is the son of former Newcastle United midfielder Lee Clark. Since joining Derby County on loan from Salzburg this summer, he has become Derby County's regular main force in the British Championship.
Clarke made his first-team debut for Liverpool at the age of 17, when he came on as a substitute against Bournemouth in the Premier League. Later that season, he also came on as a substitute in the League Cup final as Liverpool beat Chelsea to win the title. He scored his first goal for the club in the 6-1 Europa League victory over Sparta Prague.
Clark then moved to Red Bull Salzburg for 10 million pounds in the summer of 2024, reuniting with Klopp's former assistant Pepin Leinders. Leijnders served as youth training coach when Rodgers was coaching Liverpool, and then returned to the club to assist Klopp, and became the head coach of Salzburg last year. He joined Manchester City as Guardiola's assistant coach after being sacked this summer.
Clark signed a five-year contract with Salzburg at the time, but he hoped to return to England to gain stable playing opportunities.
